After a tragic plane crash, Rotary members race to help

Jeju Air flight 7C2216 crashed while landing at South Korea’s Muan International Airport last December, claiming 179 lives.

Rotary members in South Korea responded immediately, delivering hot meals and essential supplies, raising funds for victims' families, and providing long-term support and counseling.

After learning that emergency responders lacked essentials like food, water, and warmth, local Rotary members jumped into action. Within hours of the accident, volunteer teams mobilized suppliers and deployed their rapid-response unit, the Food Truck of Love, to the scene.

"We stood shoulder to shoulder with the responders, offering not just food and warmth, but also the assurance that they weren't alone." - Heng Shim, Rotary member

Most members put in 24-hour shifts, while others remained on-site for days without going home.
